Finally the funniest and most spooky week of the year has arrived, “Halloween week”, and of course the # WednesdayMusicals of the community @engranaje could not be left behind; this week we present the Live Crazy Hour of Halloween, under the guidance of the user @gaborockstar.
Of course I want to make my participation of the week in style and chose the great King of Pop, Michael Jackson and his hit hit, Thriller, a song that marked a before and after in the history of music video in 1984 and record world that is still maintained to this day.
Before continuing reading, I invite you to play the following video to enter this terrifying atmosphere … This is the short version to be used as a radio single. This version is included in the album Michael Jackson Number Ones that went on sale in the year 2003, and is with which I make my entry for this special Halloween program:
Thriller is the name of the most successful album in the history of the disc, was released on November 30, 1982 under the label Epic Records and was the sixth album of the King of Pop. Its success was so massive that virtually all songs of the disc were world singles.
With a post-album and r & b environment, Thriller had important hits for Jackson, including Billie Jean, one of the best selling songs in the world, as well as The Girl Is Mind, Beat It, I Wanna Be Startin ‘Somethin’, Human Nature and PYT (Pretty Young Thing).
The success of this album was so great that the song Thriller, which gives its name to it, was released as the seventh and final single in January 1984, and still became number one and one of its most acclaimed songs. It can not be denied that all the production that was used to promote it was in style, and mainly due to its music video.
Composed by Rod Temperton, produced by Quincy Jones and performed by Michael Jackson, this song was number one in Belgium, Spain and France, in addition to reaching the top of Billboard Dance / Club Play Songs in the United States, however, it was top 10 In all countries of the world.
Some curiosities of this song are the fact that the AOL website placed Thriller as the second best song for Halloween and second best song for parties. On the other hand, just the week of his death the sales of Thriller as an album and single went back to shoot as if we were back in the eighties. In addition, each year this theme goes back into the world’s top 40 for sales generated at the end of October motivated to Halloween. Definitely one of the most important musical works in history.
The videoclip of this single is always named as the most famous and important video in all the lists and special compilations made by the main chains of the video industry, such as the Mtv and Vh1 channels. This set in the fifties and the terrifying theme of the Wolf Man.
Her choreography seems to me one of the most perfect and best care works of contemporary dance and I also consider her a pioneer in her style, which has influenced hundreds of artists worldwide, whether they are famous celebrities or excellent imitators of the artist who even have your own tribute shows. It should be noted that it is the most versioned choreography of all time, from movies to Halloween parties.
In the video, actress and model Ola Ray participates as a couple of the performer and the creepy voice and narration can be appreciated, as in the studio audio of Vicent Price. Another important feature is its long duration, paying tribute to the title of the song, practically a horror musical was made, which until now is still the longest video clip in history. Without further ado, I need to share with you this music classic:
Thanks to all the people who dedicated their time to read the great appreciation I feel for this artist and this song that reminds me one of the best decades of my life. The @engranaje community will perform the live healing of # WednesdayMusical on Halloween night at 8 o’clock at night, they are still in time to participate making a post for the crazy hour.
